More detail than you can imagine about Palin's activities before and during the Python years. It is, after all, his diary. Regrettably, there are lapses when he was too busy to write. For glaring example, the entire process of making the very first Python TV episode is discussed after-the-fact but there are no daily recollections. Much of the text discusses the surprising idea that some of the troupe, mostly Cleese, didn't want to do more seasons of TV episodes after the first season concluded. That amazed me, because until then they didn't make much money as writers and performers on other people's shows. I thought the diary notes on the Holy Grail film were a little light, too, although he recaps the well known personality conflicts and Chapman's self-destructive behaviors. Lots of information include about where he ate and what his meals comprised. Snarky comments abound about hotel accommodations. A few words here and there about having a wife and baby. It's evident what is important to the guy at that time of his life. You be the judge, you're a Python fan.
